Happy Birthday, Bryin and Darvel!

So today is both Bryin and Darvel's birthday, and as I was thinking about it, I'm amused by the fact that since last year, both of these characters have changed a lot.

Darvel for example, was originally going to be Bryin's cousin. He was about seventeen while Bryin was fifteen, and I had been working on a mysterious backstory as to where his parents had disappeared to and why he was so angry. Then, before I had really written a lot about Darvel, an idea popped into my head and I discussed it with my sister who said it might be an interesting idea. The idea, of course, was to make Bryin and Darvel brothers, although as I seriously considered the idea for a few days, I realized the way I had set things up, there was only one possible way for them to be brothers. They had to be twins. And so instead of being seventeen, Darvel became fifteen like Bryin. And with Bryin being the older twin who got all of the attention from their parents, it gave Darvel a real reason to be hurt and angry. All in all, I like the way things turned out with him. Now if I only I could get him and Bryin to be friends, and I would be more than happy! XD

As for Bryin, in my opinion, he's grown a lot in the past year. If I'm right, story-wise since just last year, he's discovered his father, found out he could read minds, defeated evil aliens, adopted a brother, and now he's off adventuring with pirates... I know I'm Bryin's author, but I have no idea if I'm right by saying, Bryin has slowly started to become less childish. Even though he doesn't want to grow up and accept responsibility for certain things, and even though he's trying his hardest to stay childish and difficult, I have feeling circumstances as going to force him to change soon rather than later.

Now, as much as I find some of my other characters amusing as well, Bryin and Darvel are my all time favorites, and Bryin is my first character ever created for this series. I hope you guys like one if not both of them, and I know it's all up to me, but I hope they have a happy birthday! ;)

Ooh!! But I just got an idea for a short story. XD
